An employee of Jagiroad-based Nagaon Paper Mill committed suicide Monday (April 29), with his body founding hanging inside his room. The employee, identified as Biswajit Mazumdar, took the extreme step apparently after suffering from financial distress due to non-release of salaries for 28 months.
Mazumdar was discovered hanging from the ceiling fan in room number six of the senior hostel situated inside the paper mill complex.
Mazumdar hailed from Kolkata. His colleagues claimed he took the extreme step apparently following poor financial state as a result of not receiving salaries for such a long time.
The body was later sent for post-mortem by police.
