A day after News Live broke how a dreaded rhino poacher, currently out of prison on bail, was given a ticket by the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in Bokakhat to contest the upcoming Panchayat elections, another alleged rhino poacher has got a ticket — this time fielded by the Congress — to fight the rural hustings in Biswanath district.
Mohd. Diluwar Hussain, arrested twice in connection with poaching of rhinoceros and currently out of prison on bail, has been awarded a ticket by the Congress party to contest for the post of president of Suwaguri gram panchayat in Biswanath district of Assam.

Diluwar was booked in multiple rhino poaching cases, both inside Kaziranga and in the Sixth Schedule area of the park, and that the trials are still under way and in no case has court given him a clean chit.
“Yes, I was arrested a couple of times in rhino poaching cases. I was framed and I have no role in killing rhinos,” Diluwar told News Live.
“I am confident of winning since I am close to the people here and they are backing me,” he added.
