Counting of votes for the 2-phase Panchayat polls in Assam will take place on May 11
GUWAHATI, April 2: Panchayat polls in Assam will be held in two phases on May 2 and May 7, the Assam State Election Commission announced today (April 2).
Counting of votes will take place on May 11, Alok Kumar, State Election Commissioner, Assam, said in Guwahati today.
While elections in the first phase on May 2 will be held in upper Assam districts and the Barak Valley, voting in the second phase on May 7 will be held in lower Assam districts.
The panchayat polls will be held using ballot paper, the State Election Commissioner further added.
