GUWAHATI: Wearing personal protection equipment (PPE), the medical team at Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) in upper Assam performed one ovarian cyst surgery and two Caesarean sections on COVID-19 positive patients on Monday.
Taking to Twitter, Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma appreciated the medical team for their service during the pandemic.
“Wearing PPE, our medical team in Jorhat medical college performed one ovarian cyst surgery and two Caesarean sections yesterday on COVID positive patients. My sincere appreciation,” Dr. Sarma tweeted.
Earlier on Sunday, Caesarean section of a COVID-19 positive pregnant woman was conducted at Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College and Hospital (FAAMCH) in Barpeta.
