Guwahati: Amid all speculations of alliance between the major parties for the forthcoming Assam Legislative Assembly Election , All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief Badruddin Ajmal on Wednesday said that all the newly formed political parties will be forced to join the ‘Mahagathbandhan’.
Speaking to media persons, the AIUDF chief said, “I am confident that our alliance (gathbandhan) will definitely form the government. The people of Assam know if I am communal or not. So the opposition does not need to make any kind of allegations regarding me being a communal leader”.
Ajmal also added, “The newly formed party, Raijor Dal is working very hard in the minority areas, that don’t mean that all the minority people working for the minorities are communal. This is the reason I am avoiding such statements. The future will tell that if our alliance with the Congress will work or not. And I am sure our alliance will win the upcoming Assembly Elections”.
“The newly formed political parties Axom Jatiya Parishad and Raijor Dal will be forced to join the gathbandhan after the assembly elections. I think that both the parties will not get more than 5 seats each. I think Lurinjyoti Gogoi of AJP and Akhil Gogoi of Raijor Dol isn’t the people of BJP. They are like us and I am sure they will be forced to join our gathbandhan to form the government,” said the AIUDF chief.
Ajmal also stated that it will be impossible for the parties to form the government under such circumstances. AJP and Raijor Dol will only be left with the option of either joining the BJP-led coalition or gathbandhan.
