Operation Sindoor: Indian forces avenge Pahalgam killings: Indian armed forces launched missile attacks on nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir at 1:44 am on Wednesday. The attacks, aptly codenamed “Operation Sindoor“, avenged the Pahalgam killings with the precision strikes killing nearly 100 terrorists.

The well-coordinated attacks targeted terrorist bases, including Muridke and Bahawalpur which are strongholds of terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed.

“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the Defence Ministry stated in a statement confirming the strikes on terrorist bases in pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

The Narendra Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said hours after Indian forces carried out the aerial strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).

“Proud of our armed forces. Operation Sindoor is Bharat’s response to the brutal killing of our innocent brothers in Pahalgam. The Modi government is resolved to give a befitting response to any attack on India and its people. Bharat remains firmly committed to eradicating terrorism from its roots,” Amit Shah said.

Political leaders cutting across party lines also lauded the aerial strikes on terror bases in Pakistan. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also lauded Indian Army’s “resolute, resolve and courage” following the strikes on terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.

“India has an unflinching National Policy against all forms of terrorism emanating from Pakistan and PoK. We are extremely proud of our Indian Armed Forces who have stuck terror camps in Pakistan and PoK. We applaud their resolute resolve and courage,” Kharge wrote on ‘X’, formerly Twitter.

“The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism,” External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar wrote.
