GUWAHATI: A jawan of 4th Sikh Light Infantry Regiment reportedly died on the spot when the vehicle carrying 11 personnel fell into a gorge in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning. The vehicle, a heavy truck was travelling from Tuting army camp to Migging transit camp.
The incident happened between Pango and Tuting as the vehicle could not navigate the inclement weather and fell into a gorge. Four soldiers were critically injured and were evacuated by an army helicopter with the help of ITBP personnel who rushed to the site. Three more received minor injuries.
The three soldiers who received serious injuries have been shifted to Army Base Hospital, Guwahati while one was admitted at Dinjan Army Base Hospital.
