GUWAHATI, Feb 2: One person was killed after he was attacked by a group of people over a property-related dispute at Hojai in Assam on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Chauhan. The incident took place at Siliguri Basti in the heart of Hojai town.
Eyewitness reports said the wife of the victim was seen wailing and crying inconsolably in the middle of the road after her husband was attacked by the group of miscreants.
Although police rushed Chouhan to hospital, he was declared “brought dead” by doctors.
The wife of the deceased identified the attackers as Surendra Chauhan, Nayak Chauhan, Kanchan Chauhan, Dhanush Chauhan and Manoj Chauhan.
Hojai Police have launched an operation to arrest the alleged attackers.
