Odd-Even rule SOP by Assam Government

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government on Wednesday issued a revised COVID-19 SOP to contain the spread of COVID-19 in Assam. According to the new SOP, the Odd-Even car(registration plates) rule will be mandatory for plying on the roads.

As per the new guidelines, all vehicles (other than government vehicles) will be allowed to move in accordance with an odd-even formula between 05:00 AM to 02:00 PM. However, personal vehicles used for medical emergencies will be allowed to move.

On 13, 15,17,19,21 23, and 25 May vehicles number ending 1/3/5/7/9(Odd numbers) will be allowed on ply on roads.

On the other hand, on 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, and 26 May, vehicles number ending with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8(Even numbers) will be allowed to move.

 

On the other hand, in case of two-wheeler pillion riding will not be allowed(except with women and children).

Also, All public transport will be allowed to operate only up to 30% of seating capacity. Auto Rickshaws, cycle rickshaws, and taxis are allowed to operate with one driver and two passengers.

The new SOP will come into force with effect from 5 AM of May 13(Thursday) until further orders.
