GUWAHATI: Assam finance minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma clarified that the Assam government has not mulled over yet to reduce the retirement age of the employees to 50 or 55 years.
Rubbishing the reports published by a section of media, Sarma said that the state government has not taken up any such proposal. The retirement age of the government employees is still 60 years.
Minister Sarma’s reactions came following multiple reports that the state government is mulling over to reduce the age of retirement of the employees to 50-55 years.
