Dhola killings fallout | Mrinal Hazarika arrested, Jiten Dutta detained

PUBLISHED:

Pro-talks ULFA leader Mrinal Hazarika has been arrested by Pan Bazar Police after he was summoned by cops for allegedly making provocative comments and the subsequent killing of five persons at Dhole in Tinsukia district yesterday (Nov 1).

Hazarika was served summons and told to appear at Pan Bazar Police Station in connection with a case filed against him for making provocative statements over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, and warnining about a “re-run of 1983-like situation and massacres”.

He was later produced at the Kamrup Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Guwahati.

On the other hand, Jiten Dutta was also detained by Sivasagar Police at Gaurisagar and was reportedly being brought to Guwahati.

The crackdown on the pro-talks ULFA leaders came after Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal warned people making provocative speeches and controversial comments of action after yesterday’s killings at Dhola.
