Three people have been arrested in connection with last night’s collapse of two multi-storey buildings at Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. The arrested include the builder and owner of the land. An FIR has also been lodged under different criminal acts.
Many people, most of them labourers, were trapped last night after a six-story under construction structure collapsed on an adjacent building in Shah Beri village. Three bodies have been recovered, so far. Relief and rescue operations by four NDRF teams are in full swing.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a probe into the incident and directed officials to provide relief to the victims. A magisterial enquiry has also been ordered by the Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate who has sought a report within 15 days.
Meanwhile, three people, including builder and his two associates, have been arrested in connection with the incident. State Government spokesperson Srikant Sharma said, all aspects, including negligence of officers and violation of rules of construction, will be probed. He said, the guilty will not be spared.
