No compromise with enforcement of national directives on lockdown: Assam DGP

GUWAHATI: Assam Police will not compromise with the enforcement of national directives on lockdown, said director general of police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

Addressing media persons along with Assam chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, DGP Mahanta said that police will take stern action against lockdown rules.

“Spitting at public place will be regarded as an offence. There will be complete ban on liquor and gutkha. Pillion riding will remain banned. In case of four-wheeler, only one person will be allowed along with the driver,” said Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.

On the other hand, for the trucks carrying essential goods, driver and only of his assistants will be allowed.
