‘Niyomiya Barta’, one of Assam’s mass-circulated daily newspapers, has recorded a massive upsurge in readership, adding 2.34 lakh readers in the last one year, according to the latest Indian Readership Survey (IRS).
In the first quarter of the calendar year 2019, ‘Niyomiya Barta’’s readership shot up by 29.92 per cent to 10.16 lakh from 7.82 lakh, nearly double the increase compared to ‘Asomiya Pratidin’ that showed a readership increase of just 15.63 per cent.
According to the Indian Readership Survey, ‘Niyomia Barta’ is second in terms of readership with ‘Asomiya Pratidin’ in the number one slot.
The survey was conducted by Media Research Users Council (MRUC), in association with research firm Nielsen India, in 3.24 lakh households between Nov 2018 and April 2019.
