Union Minister Nitin Gadkari fainted during an election rally in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal on Wednesday afternoon.
Gadkari is currently being treated by doctors.
During an election rally in Yavatmal’s Pusad, while addressing the crowd, Gadkari suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed on stage. Swift action was taken by his party members, who promptly caught the senior leader and rushed him to receive medical assistance.
Mr Gadkari – who contested the first phase of the Lok Sabha election as the BJP’s Nagpur candidate – was campaigning for Rajashree Patil, who is from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s faction of the Shiv Sena, and is the ruling Mahayuti alliance’s pick for the Yavatmal-Washim seat.
