GUWAHATI, Dec 4: A young woman was gangraped at Boragaon’s Nijarapar locality on the south-eastern outskirts of Guwahati city by nine men.
Besides committing the heinous crime, the accused also filmed the act on their mobile phones.
Police said the incident took place on Nov 17 but came to light after the video of the shocking crime went viral.
Police have arrested seven accused while launching a massive hunt to nab the remaining two.
The seven arrested accused have been identified as Kuldeep Nath (23), Bijoy Rabha (22), Pinku Das (18), Gagan Das (21), Saurav Boro (20), Mrinal Rabha (19) and Dipankar Mukhiya (21).
Robin Das and Krishna are the two other accused who are still absconding.
Police said they have registered a sou moto case while the identity of the victim is yet to be ascertained.
