NF Railway records 0.956 MT of freight loading in February

NF Railway says growth in freight loading has strengthened the economic landscape of the region

GUWAHATI, March 16: NF Railway (NFR) has recorded 0.956 million tonnes (MT) of freight loading across various commodities in February 2025.

In February 2025, several commodities recorded significant growth in freight loading compared to the same period last year. Container loading recorded a hike with 44.4%, Cement loading saw a 37.5% increase, while dolomite loading rose by 26.7% and Fertilizer loading grew by 5.0%.

Additionally, in other segments, ballast loading increased by 27.3%, stone chips registered a 50.5% and bamboo loading recorded a notable rise of 800% as compared to the previous fiscal year.

As of February 2025, NF Railway’s cumulative freight loading reached 9.627 million tonnes, marking a 4.9% increase compared to the same period last year.

This upward trend has not only strengthened the region’s economic landscape but also contributed significantly to NF Railway’s revenue, a release issued by NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated.
