GUWAHATI: The Assam government under the leadership of chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has been emphasising on developing sports infrastructure in the state. To give a platform to budding talents, a new sports complex will be functional soon at North Lakhimpur.
On Monday, CM Sarma visited the site to review the ongoing construction works.
He was accompanied by minister Sanjoy Kishan, Lok Sabha Pradan Baruah and MLA Manab Deka.

Earlier, CM Sarma visited a COVID-19 vaccination centre in Dhemaji district.
The chief minister also chaired a review meeting with the district administration on current COVID-19 scenario.
“Directed DC to ensure vaccination of all govt officials at the earliest so that they can render services during floods. Also asked to prioritise vaccination of ASHA, AWW & Anganwadi Sahayikas. Urged officials to complete vaccination of targeted population within 75 days,” Dr Sarma tweeted.
He also directed the deputy commissioner to finalise land for setting up a medical college in Dhemaji.
