Guwahati: As winters are here, everyone will be enjoying the outdoors by having outdoor picnics. Picnics bring together family, friends and neighbors and let everyone have a great time.
Keeping in view the picnic season, the District Transport Office (DTO) has issued new guidelines for a decentralized and self-sustaining mode of Picnic management.
- Avoid drink and drive
- Avoid rash driving
- Playing loud music not allowed
- Ban on usage of mobile while driving
In the said guidelines, it also have been mentioned that anybody who wishes to hire bus for the picnic purpose, should note that the drive of the bus should not be drunk.
Meanwhile, for New Year’s Eve in Guwahati, the Assam police and the Department of Transportation have agreed to implement rigorous traffic regulations to ensure safer streets and fewer accidents.
Both authorities have chosen to keep a close eye on the streets and anyone who violate them, imposing stiff fines. Both departments have issued tight directives for upcoming holidays such as Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
According to the DTO of Kamrup Metropolitan Gautam Das, violators of these laws and regulations would face a fine of Rs. 10,000, as well as possible jail and license suspension under Section 185.
