Guwahati: New Directives for City Buses issued by the Transport Department following a Guwahati High Court order
- Buses have to display permit & route number on front, back and left side.
- In motion, both the doors should be closed.
- Doors to open only on reaching the destination.
- Entry via the back door and exit via front door.
- Issue ticket to the passenger immediately after paying the fare.
- No halting at the bus stop for more than 1 minute.
- More than 1 city bus cannot halt at the same stop.
- Drivers, conductors and handymen must exhibit decent behaviour.
- No overtaking on the left side.
- Owners and driver have to use time cards.
