Assam: NEF College Guwahati donates Rs 1 lakh to CM’s relief fund

GUWAHATI: The NEF Law College of Guwahati has contributed an amount of Rs 1 lakh to the Chief Minister’s relief fund on Thursday.

The cheque was handed over to the Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma by Nef Law College Chairman and  Managing Trustee Dr. Zakir Hussain, Dr. Bhuban Barooah, and Padoomi Deka to support the ongoing vaccination drive in Assam.

It is to be noted that people have come forward in large numbers and have started donating towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

GUWAHATI: After Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma requested the general public to join the fight against COVID19 by contributing for vaccination, people have come forward in large numbers and have started donating towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).

Himanta Biswa Sarma himself donated Rs. 3 lakh as a personal contribution towards procurement of COVID19 vaccine. CM Sarma has urged the people to strengthen the campaign against the pandemic turning it into a Jan Andolan (people’s movement).

 

Apart from individuals, ministers, MLAs and BJP workers, the general public on their own have contributed to the Assam CMRF. The twitter handle of CM office has lauded the contributors for the kind gesture. Almost all the cabinet ministers of Assam have contributed to the CMRF.

Assam has so far already given vaccines to 37 lakh people, without any discrimination.
