National Science Day observed at USTM

GUWAHATI: The department of Zoology of University of Science and Technology Meghalaya (USTM) observed National Science Day on Saturday.

“As the whole nation is going to celebrate National Science Day tomorrow, the Department of Zoology, University of Science and Technology Meghalaya has celebrated it today itself in advance as the University will remain closed on 28th February 2021 due to Sunday,” stated in a press release issued by the university.

While head of the department (HOD) Dr. Dipankar Dutta gave the welcome speech, vice-chancellor Prof. G.D Sharma delivered the keynote address.

He spoke about the strong determination power of Sir C.V. Raman, and urged all the students to inculcate it in their hearts.

“Interest and curiosity are the foremost factors required to achieve any big thing. When there is a will, there is a way”, he added.

Dr. RK Sharma and Dr. BK Das also spoke on the occasion.

On the other hand a book written by by Dr.Sharu Joshi, associate professor, PQHSE was released at the event.
