Nagaland’s Kiphire district reports first Covid-19 positive case

Guwahati: Kiphire district of Nagaland has reported its first Covid-19 positive case after an inmate of a quarantine centre in Kiphire was tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

Till August 19, Kiphire district was the only Green Zone district in Nagaland.

According to the reports of the Nagaland Health department, the first Covid-19 positive case in Kiphire district was detected from a returnee.

Nagaland has reported 38 new positive cases for Covid-19 in the past 24 hours and with the new cases the state tally has gone up to 3,558.

Out of the total cases 1,561 cases are from Armed forces, 1,189 cases from returnees, 238 cases from frontline workers, 516 cases from traced contacts and 54 cases of others.

Seven persons died due to Covid-19 infections and 1,706 patients have been discharged from different hospitals of the state.

The state has now 1,838 active positive cases for the new virus. The first Covid-19 positive case in Nagaland was reported on May 25.
