Fresh aftershocks continued to jolt Myanmar as the death toll following the devastating 7.7-Magnitude Myanmar earthquake rose to nearly 2,000

GUWAHATI, March 31: Following the devastating 7.7-Magnitude Myanmar earthquake, aftershocks continue to jolt Myanmar while rescue work is being taken up on a war footing while the death toll continues to mount further.

5.1 Magnitude aftershock jolt Mandalay

A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Mandalay on Saturday as the region continued to experience one aftershock after another.

There were, however, no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property as a result of the aftershock.

Woman pulled alive from rubble in Myanmar

A woman was pulled out alive from the ruins of a hotel in Myanmar, officials, as rescue teams race against time to pull out possible survivors from heaps of debris.

The woman was pulled from the rubble of Mandalay’s Great Wall Hotel, media reports stated.

Death toll in Myanmar mounts

The death toll has risen to around 2,000 with more bodies being pulled out of the rubble, reports quoting the country’s military-led government said on Monday.

Nearly 3,500 others have been injured and more than 300 missing following the devastating earthquakes that struck Myanmar on Friday afternoon.

Death toll rises to 18 in Thailand

The death toll in Thailand has risen to 18 with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, in a press release, claimed 11 of the 18 fatalities were from the collapsed 30-storey skyscraper that came crumbling down like a pack of cards.
