Muthoot Finance, SeSTA extend support to sub-centres in Chirang to fight pandemic

GUWAHATI: Muthoot Finance in association with Seven Sisters Development Assistance (SeSTA), a not-for-profit organisation has come forward to support the medical sub-centres during the pandemic in Chirang district of western Assam.

On Thursday, as part of their joint initiative, medical essentials like infrared digital thermometer, oximeter, sanitizer, facemask, medicines like Becosule, Immuguard, ZU-C 500-tab etc were distributed to three sub-centres under Manikpur to fight the battle against COVID-19.

Manikpur SeSTA organised the awareness cum distribution ceremony of essential medical items and supplies with support from Muthoot Group. Bijni MLA Ajay Kumar Ray, sub-divisional medical officer (SDMO) Dr Owary, SDMO Ranjit Boro NHM block CHC, chairmen from Dewanpara, Bijnigaon and Chaitanguri also attended the event.

Appreciating SeSTA for the initiative, MLA Ray said, “I am really grateful to SeSTA for arranging this event and bringing a reputed organisation like Muthoot Finance to support the sub-centres in my area. I am really thankful to both SeSTA and Muthoot Group”

“Muthoot group and SeSTA are in the mission to spread awareness against the virus and support those in the extremely rural pockets who are severely affected by the 2nd wave of Covid virus. A group of Asha workers and Community Cadres responsible for community support will be trained to spread awareness in the villages under these two VCDCs.

Seven Sisters Development Assistance is engaged in distribution of Dry Ration, Medi kits and Makeshift Beds and other essentials in another 15 blocks of nine districts of the state,” read a statement.
