Apart from being their second WPL title, the win meant Mumbai Indians now have 12 trophies in their kitty in all.
GUWAHATI, March 16: Mumbai Indians won their second WPL title after registering an eight-run win over Delhi Capitals.
After restricting Mumbai to 149 for 7 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday with the Capitals opting to bowl first after winning the toss, they could manage 141 runs in their 20 overs losing 9 wickets to hand Mumbai their second WPL crown.
For Mumbai, skipper Harmanpreet Kaur led from the front making 66 runs off just 44 balls while Natalie Sciver-Brunt made 30.
Sciver-Brunt then took three wickets with the ball to restrict Delhi to 141 runs, meaning it would not be third time lucky for the Capitals as their dreams of lifting the trophy came crashing down yet again while giving Mumbai their second WPL title.
The title, meanwhile, is the 12th overall for the Mumbai Indians family, including the six titles they have won in the Indian Premier League.

The Delhi women, on the other hand, will have to wait for at least another year to lift the Women’s Premier League crown after losing the three consecutive finals.
