GUWAHATI, Dec 10: The death toll in the BEST bus accident in Kurla West in Mumbai rose to six while 49 others were injured. A bus had rammed into pedestrians and vehicles on Monday night after the driver lost control, reports said quoting police.
The bus was plying under the Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) and was on its way to Andheri when the driver lost control and the vehicle collided with as many as 30-35 vehicles before hitting the RCC column of the Solomon Building, breaking its compound wall, BMC stated.
While three persons were reportedly declared dead on arrival after they were rushed to hospital from the crash site, three among the injured breathed their last at the hospital.
The driver of the bus, identified as Sanjay More, has been taken into custody by Mumbai Police.
