GUWAHATI: The Assam Goverment has decided to impose Total Containment in the districts of Biswanath, Morigaon, Goalpara and Bokakhat Sub-division for at least a week. The decision has been taken after cases of COVID19 escalated in the past few days.
“From Monday morning, the district of Goalpara and Morigaon will have Total Containment,” announced Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta on Friday evening. “Moreover, Biswanath, Morigaon, Goalpara, Bokakhat Sub-division will also have total containment from Monday,” said the health minister.
“Only essential services will be allowed in Containment areas. Grocery shops will be allowed to open from 5 AM to 5 PM,” said Mahanta.
Wherever the infection rate is coming down there will be relaxation in restrictions. On the other hand, locations that are seeing a surge will face stricter restrictions said Keshab Mahanta.
