GUWAHATI, Oct 27: Manohar Lal Khattar was on Sunday sworn-in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second straight time while Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) president Dushyant Chautala, great grandson of Devi Lal, took oath as Deputy CM.

Apart from former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and other leaders of Haryana and Punjab, Dushyant’s father Ajay Chautala, who was granted furlough for a period of two weeks from Tihar Jail on Saturday, attended the swearing-in ceremony.

The decks were cleared for Khattar to take oath as Haryana CM for the second straight term after the BJP and JJP stitched a post-poll alliance after the BJP failed to cross the majority mark.

The BJP won 40 seats, Congress 31, and the JJP 10 while seven Indipendents won 7 seats in the 90-member assembly.
