GUWAHATI: Miscreants from Mizoram pelted stones at Assam Government officials who are currently stationed at the Lilapur area in Assam-Mizoram border.
According to sources, the Assam Government officials are protecting the Assam’s land from encroachment, when a group of miscreants pelted stone at the officials.
No reports of major damage of public property or human life has been reported in the incident.
Condeming the act, Assam Police posted of Facebook, “It’s unfortunate that large number of miscreants from Mizoram are indulging in stone pelting and such forms of attack at Assam Government Officials, stationed at Lailapur to protect Assam’s land from encroachment.
We strongly condemn these acts of vandalism and reiterate our resolve to protect Assam’s boundary.”
