GUWAHATI, Dec 13: Unidentified miscreants attacked Meghalaya Health and IPR Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh’s car after she was returning from the Bryan Adams concert on Dec 10.
The incident took place around 10:35 pm near the Green Hills Restaurant in Polo, reports said, adding that she not inside the vehicle at the time of the attack but was walking towards it.
A stone was reportedly thrown at the car following which the passenger-side window of her vehicle was smashed.
No arrests have been made so far.
This is not the first time the minister has been targeted. On July 12, 2023, Ampareen Lyngdoh faced another attack at her residence in Laitumkhrah. A man armed with a traditional Khasi machete had attempted to harm her. Stones were also hurled, shattering the window panes of her home.
The attack had caused significant distress to Lyngdoh and her family.
