Minor girl found murdered inside relief camp in Manipur’s Churachandpur

GUWAHATI, March 21: A 9-year-old minor girl was found dead inside the Lanva TD Block Relief Camp in Churachandpur, Manipur.

The victim had gone missing around 6:30 in the evening and her body was recovered around midnight on Thursday.

Family members of the minor girl and camp residents launched a frantic search after she went missing and her body was recovered within the premises of the relief camp.

Reports indicate that her throat had been tied with a rope, and visible injury marks were found on her neck.

Blood stains were also observed on her body, particularly on her buttocks, raising suspicions of sexual assault.

Authorities suspect foul play, and an investigation has been launched.

The girl’s body has been sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and whether she was sexually assaulted before being killed.
