Five persons were killed and at least 13 more injured when a minibus returning from a marriage reception rammed into a stationary truck at Balajan in Assam’s Dhubri district early Saturday.
A couple was also among the dead.
Four out of the five who died in the accident have been identified as Shambhu Rawat, his wife kanchan, Utpal Rai and Subhash Adhikari while the identity of the fifth, believed to be the handyman of the vehicle, is yet to be established. The Traveler minibus was carrying around 25 people.
The vehicle was returining from Noyagaon in Bongaigaon when it rammed into the truck around 3:30 am (Saturday).
The injured passengers were admitted to Dhubri civil hospital while those with serious injuries were rushed to the Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) for better treatment.
