Mini lockdown to be relaxed district-wise from June 15: Assam CM

GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday said restrictions of mini lockdown would be relaxed district-wise from June 15.

He said more relaxations would be made in the districts where COVID-19 scenario improves.

“We will relax from June 15 considering the district-wise positivity rate. It will be more on a scientific pattern. The districts which will perform better, they will get relaxations faster,” Sarma said while addressing media persons in Guwahati on completion of one month of his government.

Dr Sarma also claimed Assam as the only state to control COVID-19 infection without imposing a total lockdown.
