Mika Singh recreates his own classic ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag’ for ‘Ginny Weds Sunny’

PUBLISHED:

Guwahati: So, the inevitable has happened! We now have recreations of recreations and, there is no other way of saying this, it is equally unoriginal.

Let me take you through it; earlier the makers of Kiara Advani’s Indoo Ki Jawani dropped a song which was a remix of singer Mika Singh’s hit old song ‘Sawan Mein Lag Gayi Aag’, infused in a new shaadi number ‘Haseena Pagal Deewani’.

Now, while we were just getting used to it, Singh has rehashed the oldie again for Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam’s upcoming film Ginny Weds Sunny.

And they haven’t even bothered to change/tweak the name! So basically, we now have two versions of the same song that we didn’t ask in the first place.

Like we get the urge to rehash every formula that has once worked but how long before the singer tires himself out? Cause we are tired listening to it!

If you absolutely need to know; Mika Singh is joined by another fan-favorite Neha Kakkar and rapper Badshah who are supposed to accentuate the “official party anthem” (?) as Ginny and Sunny played by Gautam and Massey respectively, break into uncomfortable moves on the neon dance floor.

The twist to the old-age classic starts rather bizarrely with the rapper going like “Doodh ubaloge to jhaag lagegi aur jo saawan mein aise naachogi to aag lagegi.”

Yeah, I’m not making this up. So, you get the drill. The only saving grace is a uber-cool looking Vikrant Massey in his sparkly bomber jacket, in a light we have never seen in him before.

The official synopsis also reads, “Living with her matchmaker mother in Delhi, Ginny is a free spirit who refuses to settle with mediocre.

Enter: Sunny. He’s got cheesy romantic lines, witty answers, an aversion for risk and a determination to make Ginny his wife. But, the match is not that simple. As Ginny meets Sunny, there’s a lot more that comes to the fore than previously imagined in this tale of love, life, weddings and music.”
