Meghalaya SSA teachers to hold mass march over unpaid salaries

PUBLISHED:

The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers of Meghalaya have decided to go on a mass march as the deadline given to the State Government ended on February 28.

It may be mentioned that the SSA teachers had warned the state government of intensifying their agitations in case the Government failed to fulfil their demands of payment of their 5 months pending salaries from October 2021 to February 2022.

In this regard, the agitating teachers had set an ultimatum of February 28 for the Government to reply.

In a video statement issued by the President of Meghalaya SSA Teachers’ Association or MSSASA, Aristotle Rymbai said that the association shall hold a peaceful mass march to the Meghalaya Secretariat on March 2.

In the same video message, Rymbai also urged upon the SSA teachers to come forward and participate in the peaceful march as a mark of protest against the alleged failure of the State Government towards fulfilling their demand.
