GUWAHATI: One person tested positive for COVID-19 in Meghalaya on Monday, taking the total positive tally to 12.
Confirming the report on Monday night, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma tweeted, “One of the family friend of the positive patient has also been tested positive. The person is already in a quarantine center. The total number is at 12. One deceased and other 11 are stable.”

It is to be mentioned that, the first COVID-19 positive case of the state who was a 69-year-old senior doctor of a Shillong-based hospital died on April 15, while six members of his family, including his wife, tested positive for the disease.
Conrad Sangma also informed that a total of 838 samples have been sent for testing and 714 individuals have been tested negative and are awaiting results for 113 test reports.
