GUWAHATI, Dec 4: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today unveiled the foundation stone of the Shillong Ropeway Project, first laid by President Droupadi Murmu in January, at Shillong Peak.
The ambitious ropeway project, estimated to cost Rs 175 crore, is expected to mark the beginning of Meghalaya’s largest tourism initiative.
The ropeway will provide a scenic aerial connection between Shillong Peak and Lawsohtun, attracting both tourists and locals alike.
As part of the project’s development, Chief Minister Sangma also handed over a second installment of Rs 1.5 crore to the Riat Laban Dorbar Pyllun.
The project is expected to significantly enhance tourism in the region, offering a unique and memorable experience to visitors.
