Guwahati: The two regional committees out of the three formed by the Meghalaya government to look into the boundary dispute with neighbouring state Assam submitted their report on December 8.

Chairperson of the Ri Bhoi district committee, Prestone Tynsong and West Khasi Hills district committee chairman Renikton Tongkhar both submitted their respective reports to Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad Sangma in Shillong.

Speaking on the matter, CM Sangma said that everything is moving ahead in a smooth manner and they would look into both the reports and decide on the next step.

“We want to do it quickly because we want to meet the stakeholders after this and we also want to have a meeting with our Assam counterparts after that”, said Sangma

Renikton Tongkhar said that they have submitted their report and now it depends upon the government to decide on moving ahead with the border talks process.
Prestone Tynsong spoke about the process in which they prepared the report before submitting it to the Chief Minister yesterday.
