The long wait that appeared seemingly unending for a family living at Sanmaguri near Rangia in Assam has finally ended. Eight-year-old Bikash Das finally met his family members, 48 hours after he saw his parents, siblings and other relatives on a live show on News Live from Ahmedabad in Gujarat where he had been staying for over a year.
It was an emotional moment for both Bikash and his family as tears rolled through their cheeks after the emotional reunion, yet agaon on News Live chief managing editor Syed Zarir Hussain’s live show ‘Prekhapat’.

Bikash had landed up at a shelter home for children in Gujarat after he accidentally got separated from his parents and landed in Gujarat where he was recovered by railway police and later handed to Child Welfare Committee authorities and sent to a children home.

And after a BJP leader from Gujarat named Pradipsinh Vaghela shared visuals of the young boy with Assam Finance, Health and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the latter taking up the issue with Syed Zarir Hussain, Bikash was reunited with his family during the live show and subsequently brought back to Assam by News Editor Luit Neil Don who had gone to Ahmedabad to cover Bikash’s story.
