Mega infra push in Assam: Inauguration, foundation laying of projects worth Rs 1215 cr in a single day

In a massive development push, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma will launch and lay base for welfare projects worth Rs 1215 crore today in Nagaon and Golaghat districts.

In Golaghat the total cost of the projects is Rs 732 crore and is aimed to enhance the road connectivity.

As per information shared by the Chief Minister’s Office, foundation stone will be laid for the improvement and upgradation of Golaghat to Merapani Road at the cost of Rs 104 crore.

The total length of the road will be 29 km which serves as an important inter-state road with Nagaland. The road will also reduce the distance from Merapani to Jorhat via Titabor by 20 km.

The other key project includes the improvement and upgradation of Pulibor Handique Gaon Buralikson Road which is 16 km in length. The road will benefit 34 villages and it will connect the Golaghat Engineering College with the Golaghat Medical College.

Besides, there are 37 other projects which will be dedicated to the people at the cost of Rs 571 crore.
In Nagaon, the total cost of the projects to be launched and the foundation stones to be laid for, is Rs 483 crore.

To ensure that there is proper medical care, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma will lay foundation stone for the District Civil Hospital at Jakhalabandha. The project will come up at a cost of Rs 100 crore.
Another key project for which work will start is the upgradation of the road from Kuwaritol to Jakhalabandha via Silghat. Rs 51 crore will be spent for this project.

53 other projects will also come up soon at the cost of Rs 332 crore in the Nagaon district.
