GUWAHATI: The Ahom community of Assam will observe the Me-Dam-Me-Phi today by offering tributes to their ancestors.
Me-Dam-Me-Phi is celebrated by the Ahom community every year on January 31st.
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal wrote on twitter, “Greetings on the auspicious occasion of Me-Dam-Me-Phi. May the blessings of the ancestors guide us in building a united and strong Assam.”

Me-Dam-Me-Phi is the most important festival of the Ahom community. It is a festival to show respect to the departed ancestors and remember their contribution to the society.
