Mauritius PM Pravind Jugnauth arrives India on 8-day visit

Guwahati:  Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth arrived in Mumbai this morning on an eight-day visit to India till April 24.

Mr Jugnauth is visiting India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is accompanied by his spouse Kobita Jugnauth and a high-level delegation.

During his visit, Jugnauth will participate in the Ground-Breaking Ceremony of the WHO-Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar next Tuesday as well as in the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit in Gandhinagar on Wednesday, along with Prime Minister Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs informed.

The Mauritius Prime Minister will also pay a visit to Varanasi apart from his official engagements in Gujarat and New Delhi.

Last week, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met Secretary to the Cabinet of Mauritius NK Ballah in New Delhi and said the bilateral cooperation between the two countries was progressing from strength to strength.

Earlier in January, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth had jointly inaugurated the India-assisted social housing units’ project in Mauritius virtually.
