GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation(GMC) on Monday morning carried out an eviction drive in the Jail road area of Fancy Bazar, Guwahati.
Around 70 illegal shops, including fruit and vegetable stalls, were evicted during the drive.
Local residents have claimed that the vendors have illegally constructed a temporary market in the area.
As per officials of the GMC, an eviction notice was served earlier.
