Kokrajhar: The All Bodo Students Union, Peoples Joint committee for Bodoland Movement, The National Democratic Front of Bodoland(P) and other associations organised a Mass Gathering in Khargaon field, Kokrajhar on Monday.
Other than these organizations, general public in large number from the Bodo community from 2 districts who support the demand were present in the gathering.
“Nikhil Bodo Chatra Sangathan along with Peoples Joint Committee for Bodoland Movement, Kokrajhar have organised this mass gathering because Government had discussions with ABSU, and NDFB. It is true that the meetings and discussions are taking place, but the demands of Bodo people are yet to be fulfilled. That’s why we are compelled to organise rallies like this,” said one of the leaders.
“Today we will submit a memorandum to the government and if the government will not resolve our issue even after the submission of the memorandum then we will come out in the streets and protest,” he added.
The Bodoland movement groups have urged the central government to resolve the pending Bodoland issue without delay. They will launch a series of democratic movement programmes unless the government resolves this issue said the protesters.
