Three-time Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who also served as Defence Minister of India in the Narendra Modi cabinet, passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 63.
Parrikar was unwell for quite a long time and his health deteriorated in the past couple of days.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, several BJP leaders and union ministers along with a host of politicians cutting across party lines condoled Manohar Parrikar’s demise.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Finance, Health and PWD Minister also expressed grief at Parrikar’s passing away.
