Manipur Government transfers 70 IAS, IPS officers in major administrative shake-up

GUWAHATI, Jan 29: In a major bureaucratic shake-up, the Manipur government transferred 70 IAS, IRS, IFS, and Manipur Civil Service officers across various districts with Manipur Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh issuing a notification in this regard.

As per the order, Thoubal Superintendent of Police (SP) Rakesh Balwal has been transferred and posted as SP of Imphal East. Senapati SP Anupam has also been transferred, and Shivanand Surve, who was previously the SP of Chandel, has been appointed new Senapati SP.

In Churachandpur, SP Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir has been replaced by Prakhar Pandey. Meanwhile, S Ibomcha Singh has been appointed the new SP of Thoubal. Luikham Lanmiyo, who is the in-charge SP of Tamenglong, has been given additional responsibility for Chandel district.

The reshuffle also includes significant changes in the district administration. Chandel Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mayanglambam Rajkumar has been transferred as DC of Imphal West. L Nandakumar Singh has been appointed the new District Commissioner of Chandel.

In another major change, Ukhrul DC Kengoo Zuringla has been transferred, and Pherzawl DC Ashish Das has been appointed as his successor. Meanwhile, Mannu Amching has been appointed as the new DC of Pherzawl.

The massive administrative reshuffle aims to strengthen governance and improve law and order across the state.
