Guwahati: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh flagged off the ‘COVID-19 Vaccination Express’ on Monday to provide vaccination delivery at doorsteps across the state.
Fifteen vans, equipped with all required facilities and 20 trained staff were dispatched to the Imphal West district. The event was attended by Advisor to CM (Health) MLA Dr Sapam Ranjan, Minister S Rajen, Minister Vungzagin Valte and DC of Imphal West Kiran Kumar.
The Vaccination Express is a state government initiative in partnership with CARE India, an international non-profit organisation working on Public Health.
Speaking on the occasion, N Biren Singh urged the public to voluntarily get vaccinated and refrain from any false information regarding the effect of vaccines. He maintained that about 97-98 per cent of those who succumbed to COVID-19 in the recent past were unvaccinated individuals.

Expressing the importance of total vaccination throughout the state to overcome the pandemic, he appealed to the local clubs and social organisations to support the vaccination programme by giving information to the locals who hadn’t been vaccinated so far and encourage them to get vaccinated soon.
The Chief Minister also thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his concern about the state, and his initiative to provide free vaccination to every citizen.
