Guwahati: A man in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur district has lodged a complaint against his wife for allegedly celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in the T20 World Cup match held on October 24.

According to a report published in India Today, Ishan Miyan, a resident of Azim Nagar in Rampur said that he was watching the cricket match between India and Pakistan with his friends in a factory in Delhi.

After India lost the match, Ishan Miyan claimed that his wife Rabia Shamsi and her family burst crackers and also put up WhatsApp status that read “Pakistan Zindabad”. They also did put a demeaning post about Indian cricketers.

“She celebrated Pakistan’s victory and insulted India. Due to this, people in the factory started looking at me suspiciously and thought that I felt the same. I felt very insulted and reported the matter to the police,” Ishan Miyan told India Today.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sansar Singh said an FIR has been filed in Ganj Police Station of Rampur district against Rabia Shamsi under Section 153-A of Indian Penal Code and Section 67 of the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
