GUWAHATI, Nov 11: A man killed his elder brother after he picked up a quarrel and then attacked him with a sharp knife.
The incident took place at Birubari yesterday night when Biswajit Sarkar, who was reportedly drunk, picked up a quarrel with his elder brother Shankar.
Biswajit attacked Shankar in his neck and chest with a sharp knife.
Although the injured brother who was bleeding profusely was rushed to GMCH, he was declared brought dead.
Biswajit later fled from his house after committing the crime.
Birubari Police, after being informed about the murder, launched a search and tracked down Biswajit to Anil Nagar locality of Guwahati from where he was arrested today.
Police also recovered the knife used in the crime.
